Adapting to Change and Driving Progress at the Workforce and Inclusion Forum

The 2024 Workforce and Inclusion Forum, hosted by NAB in partnership with the NAB Leadership Foundation, brought together broadcasters, industry professionals and advocates, all focused on the future of work in the broadcast industry. This year’s event provided a platform for open dialogue on how broadcasters can prepare their employees for the jobs of tomorrow so every employee can thrive in an inclusive work environment.

The integration of AI is imminent, and speakers shared actionable insights on investing in reskilling and upskilling to meet the evolving demands that come with its adaptation. Broadcasters also walked away with practical strategies to create access and remove barriers that have historically left out the disability community.

The forum offered participants a sneak peek of the upcoming DEI Best Practices Resource, set to launch this fall. Developed with input from broadcasters nationwide, the resource will provide strategies to strengthen diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across stations of all sizes.

Adapting to change emerged as a key theme, highlighting the critical role broadcasters will play in guiding the next generation of leaders, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

The Workforce and Inclusion Forum underscored the vital role broadcasters play in building a more connected, inclusive industry that reflects the diversity of the audiences we serve. Together, we will continue working toward an industry where every voice is heard and valued.
